*Celebrating Christ*
_God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life._ _For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved John 3:16-17_
Christ was born for our redemption. The greatest need of man was redemption, so God sent us a Saviour. You see, if our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist.
If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. Instead He sent us Christ so He could reconcile us to Himself. This is the reason why we celebrate this season and every single day.
Imagine a girl bitten by a snake and her dad grabbed her leg and surveyed the wound, he knew that swift action was needed. Pulling a sharp knife from his pocket, he quickly slit across the fang wounds on her leg, bent down, and sucked the poison from her leg and spit it on the ground.
The father then fainted, when a doctor checked the father he learned that the poison from the snake had made its way into an open sore in the man’s mouth and infiltrated his blood stream. The dad died – the daughter lived. That is what Jesus did for us.
He died so that we might live. His death on the cross paid the price for our sins. The One Who lives eternally came to die, so we, who were dying eternally, might come to live. This truth is a call to celebrate Jesus and declare His great love.
