*Understanding Grace 2*

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14”

A lot of times you would have said our opening verse as a prayer or just a closing benediction after a Christian meeting. This prayer/declarative utterance is however rich in effect. Grace is a person and that person is Christ our Lord. This is to say that Grace came into your life the moment you accepted Him as your Lord. Without Christ, there can be no Grace.Christ is your right of access to Grace. This He became by the things He suffered for you when He took your place on the cross and paid the price for your sins so as to make you debt free.
Christ brought Grace to you by His death, burial and resurrection. Acknowledgment of His Lordship qualifies you to be called the son of God and you then become a joint heir with Him. This invariably qualifies you for Grace! All things that are Christ's are now yours and all things that are yours are now Christ's. This is Grace revealed to you. So each time you make this type of declarative utterance (confession) as it is in our opening text, say it with confidence. Say it with the consciousness of a man that has received grace.

This means there are thoughts and imaginations that are against the knowledge of God. They are anti-new life images and thoughts. And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.  Colossians 4 vs 17 Ministry is God working through man; it’s not man working apart from God neither is it God working apart from man. It is very important therefore to know that the strength and character of God seen in a man is not solely the responsibility of God but the responsibility of God and man. To this end, Paul wrote to Archippus a direct instruction which is worthy of note. That instruction is our opening scripture. Looking at the instruction, we need to break it into three: Take heed to the ministry The ministry that you have received in the Lord That you may fulfil it.
