It Begins With The Word.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The
same was in the beginning with God. (John 1 vs 1-2)
Whatever begins with God begins with a word from Him. This
is a principal key to understanding how God works.
Ministry doesn’t begin with a desire from man it all begins
with God. Beloved man and woman of God, are you sent by God? The answer to that
question is in what the Lord said to you. If what you are doing did not begin
with a word from God, then He didn’t send you. You are not on an assignment for
God; you are on a personal adventure.
Ministry doesn’t begin with offence, yet so many started
their God-given assignments because they took offence at someone or
something. Also, ministry doesn’t begin with gifts of the Spirit; it begins
with the word and in that word are all the gifts you will ever need. Let’s take
Jeremiah as an example.
‘Then the word of the
LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee
in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I
sanctified thee, and I ordained
thee a prophet unto the nations. 6 Then
said I, Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go
to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.’
(Jeremiah 1 vs 4-7)
The ministry of Jeremiah began with the word, it didn’t
begin with a desire for the prophetic ministry or the manifestation of any
gift, else he wouldn’t have declined when the word came to him. The word is the
most important part of any ministry. A word from God is very important; that is
your anchor in times of trouble, your sword in times of warfare. A ministry
without a word from God has no foundation. It is important therefore to stay
enough before the Lord for a word from Him. As you then act on that word you
have received from Him, all the resources necessary for the call will come from
the word.
Remember if it begins with God, it begins with the word.
Shalom!
